Rated 3.65/5 (38 Reviews)
Portable self-contained 2-channel microphone preamplifier for use with the NAGRA VI, other recorders or instandalone operation.
The front panel, chassis and features were designed using the experience of previous NAGRA recorders and render the Nagra EMP very user-friendly and comfortable to operate even in harsh environmental conditions. Using its intenal 4 AA cells, it has a running time of approximately 4 hours. It is equipped with a Hirose connector allowing external power to be supplied from the NAGRA VI, or another (external) dc supply.

The Nagra EMP has two analogue inputs on XLR connectors on the rear panel, equipped with NAGRA manufactured transformers offering an improvement of +6 dB in the noise floor when set to the 2 mV/Pa (for dynamic microphones) position. These transformers are bypassed when using condenser microphones (10 and 30 mV/pa sensitivity positions)
Gangable audio limiters, a low cut filter and a powerful Vortex filter considerably improve recordings made in windy conditions.
In addition an internal 2-track flash based solid-state 16-bit digital audio back-up is built-in. Equipped with an internal 2 GB security back-up buffer, offering about 3 hours of recording that can be downloaded to a PC through the USB port.
